The tree is a flamboyant element of nature and has powerful meanings in various cultures and religions.

The Tree of Life is a visual metaphor in which a tree represents your life and the various elements that make-up your past, present, and future. This is a surprisingly simple exercise, whereby labeling these parts, you are inspired to reevaluate your priorities, what really matters to you and reflect on the kind of person you want to be moving forward.

This fun exercise will allow you to see :

  • How your past has shaped who you are
  • What you need to let go in order to live a vibrant life
  • Which parts of your life you cherish and want to grow
  • What your dreams and goals are
  • Which decisions you will make to be able to reach them

A guided meditation, a playlist of soothing pieces of music and the various steps to follow to in order to draw your Tree of Life are included in this course.This simple and fun workshop welcomes women and men of all ages and backgrounds.

It can be done in less than an hour, however feel free to come back to it and touch-up your drawing during the following days.

No drawing experience is necessary. Just bring your curious and open mind, a few color pencils and a blank sheet of paper. You can do it by yourself or with a friend, a relative or even a teenager.

The exercise of The Tree of Life is drawn from a book written by Australian author and teacher David Denborough : " Retelling the stories of our lives : Everyday narrative therapy to draw inspiration and transform experience".

Depending on the moments of our life we choose to highlight and how we tell ourselves and each other our stories will either empower or isolate us.

The drawing of The Tree of Life is a simple and great way to clarify what matters to you while allowing you to revisit the stories of your life. Feel free to come back to it or complete your drawing over time or even draw a new tree every six month or year to see what has changed.
